For expert hunters only! Surrounded by an impassible wall of mountains, this is the most difficult terrain to hunt on the planet. The giant meteor-made lake in the center is the only obstacle on this barren, desolate island.

"The Great Lake" is the sixth area in Carnivores. It is highly recommended for expert hunters, in-fact, it can only be unlocked at Expert. Surrounded by an impassible wall of mountains, it was known as the most difficult terrain to hunt on the planet before the second project. The giant meteor-made lake in the center is the only obstacle on this barren, desolate island.

Incompatibility[edit | edit source]

Most people have reported being unable to play The Great Lake on Windows XP and some newer operating systems. This is the only generally-reported bug on XP that occurs in Carnivores, and it is possibly related to the XP bugs in Carnivores 2.

This problem can be resolved by setting compatibility mode for Carnivores: right-click the Carnivores icon and select "Properties", and in the window that pops up, select "Compatibility". On this screen, check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" checkbox, and select "Windows 98 / Windows Me" in the dropdown box and click "OK". The Great Lake should now work on your computer.
