Vivisector: Beast Within is a survival horror/first person shooter that was developed by Action Forms and published by 1C Company in the former Soviet block on September 30, 2005, in the United States and Canada on January 2, 2006 and in Europe on January 5, 2006. In the game, the player fights genetic mutants on an island called Soreo Island.

- It uses the AtmosFear engine, the same engine that Carnivores, Carnivores 2, and Carnivores Ice Age use. Some improvment such as physics were added to this version of the engine.
- It is inspired by the 1896 novel The Island of Doctor Moreau, as reflected by its original development name "Vivisector: Creatures of Dr. Moreau".
- It arose from Action Forms' cancelled title Duke Nukem: Endangered Species.
- It is known for its "vivisection point" feature where an animal's flesh can be shot off.
